Protecting Yourself from STDs

Whenever possible, withdraw the penis prior to climax and ejaculate outside of your partner. Even with a condom, our NYC gynecologist recommends avoiding all high-risk sexual activity. Although abstinence (not having sex) is the only sure way to prevent STDs, the safest sex is between two uninfected people who have never had another sex partner. Our NYC gynecologist advocates asking your partner about his or her STD history before having sex. Remember to be careful out there and never let alcohol use or passions impair your judgment.
