PCOS and Pregnancy
By Sharon Prince
A NYC gynecologist won't diagnose you as infertile until you are unable to conceive after a full year of actively trying. For many women with irregular periods, it becomes very difficult to identify when she is ovulating to even begin trying. Many women who have difficulty conceiving may have a condition called PCOS - polycystic ovary syndrome. PCOS is a very common hormonal problem seen regularly by in Manhattan gynecology. My NYC gynecologist says it affects five to seven and a half percent of all women during their childbearing years. Although my Manhattan Gynecologist has informed me that the cause is unclear, there are many similar characteristics such as irregular periods, infertility, acne, excessive hair growth and weight in the abdominal area. If you are experiencing these symptoms while trying to get pregnant, contact your Manhattan Gynecologist.
